| Oh Fudge: Sweet-toothed crowd fills library for contest |

One hundred and fifty-four Art Walkers cast votes for their favorite fudge on Feb. 11, at the Chetco Community Public Library during the Second Saturday Art Walk First Fudge-Off. Ten cooks entered the competition with 13 varieties of the confection.
Judges Anne Boulley, George Rhodes, Dan Brattain and Marge Woodfin tasted and rated each entry for three categories, traditional and specialty fudge and best overall. In addition, Pete Chasar, featured artist at the library, lended his expertise to judge visual presentation, and before they rocked the room, the Carl Rovanian and the Boon Dock Band tasted each entry for a musicians’ choice award. Winners include: Musicians’ Choice: Diane Price 11 Artist’s Choice: 1st - Kris Harris 6 2nd - Gerry Livingston 12 3rd - Pat Foht 2 Walkers’ Choice: 1st - Diane Price 10 Runner up - Dori Blodgett 1 Best Traditional 1st - Pat Foht 2 2nd - Diane Price 11 3rd - Susan Patterson 7 Best Specialty 1st - Diane Price 10 2nd - Corliss Dattel 13 3rd - Jane Turner 5 Best of Show Pat Foht 2 Host’s Choice Staci McCullough 8 Prizes were donated by the the Art Alley Grille, Horst Wolf, and co-hosts Lynn Guild and the Curry Coastal Pilot. |
