 Moira Fossum of Curry Medical Center takes a closer look at art created by Kalmiopsis Elementary School students. The Pilot/Bill Schlichting Almost 250 people cast ballots for their favorite artist-enhanced hospital exam gowns on display at the Curry Medical Center during last Second Saturday Art Walk .
Curry Medical Center staff acted as in-house jury for the 45 entries, and presented awards in several categories: Karen Berry – Most Original; Philip Wadsworth – Most Colorful; Christina Olsen – Funniest; Lorelei Hanna – Most Creative; Claudia Mach – Best Of Show; Jenna Martina – Children’s winner. (Jenna is 10 years old and an art student of Janeen Vick).
Art walkers ribboned “People’s Choice” winners: Leslie Wolf – Best of Show; Lorelei Hanna – Most Creative; Christina Olsen – Funniest; Christina Olsen – Most Colorful; Lorelei Hanna – Most Original; Mrs. Kerr’s and Ms. Coffey’s Kindergarten Class, Room 22 – Children’s winner.
The gowns will be on display at the center, 500 Fifth St., Brookings, through the end of the month.
