Former Brookings resident Christine Margaret Watrous, 93, of Grants Pass, passed away Sept. 5, 2011, at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Grants Pass.

She was born Jan. 22, 1918, in Mott, N.D., to Kasper and Betty Niederkorn.  

She worked 25 years as a Key Punch for Dillingham Corporation in Hawaii.  

In 1981 she moved from Laguna Hills, Calif. to Brookings, where she made her home until 2010 when she moved to Grants Pass.

Christine enjoyed sewing, cooking, painting, collecting and square dancing.

Survivors include her husband of 30 years Daniel Watrous of Grants Pass, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Her two children, Crystal Cole and Barton Voelz, preceded her in death.

Private family services will be held.
