After-school art classes taught by watercolor instructor Janeen Vick will begin Monday, Sept. 26, in the Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies classroom.

Classes will be from 3 to 5 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday for eight weeks  and cost $10 for two hours. Students may choose the day that works into their school schedule. Classes are for those between the ages of 7 and 16. Adults who wish to participate may do so with advance registration.

Classes are a continuation of the Summer Art Camp for Kids and will be more advanced. Students will be working on their own projects with class assignments and projects as well. This will help those who want to learn more about watercolor painting and how to finish projects so they can be ready to frame.

“Many kids are good about painting a picture but then it sits under the bed or gets wrinkled up and tossed later,” Vick said. “We will concentrate on producing great artwork that is worthy of framing.”

Sign up lists are at Manley Art Center and Gallery, 433 Oak St., and at Wright’s, 810 Chetco Ave. Students may register at the first class if they wish.
