Friday, Oct. 8

9 a.m.: The skipper of a  24-foot pleasure craft contacted the U.S. Coast Guard Station Chetco River via VHF Radio because of engine failure approximately 200 yards outside the Chetco River jetties. The Coast Guard launched a 25-foot safe boat to tow the pleasure vessel back to the Port of Brookings Harbor.

 

Tuesday, Oct. 12

7:30 a.m.: The crew of a disabled 26-foot pleasure craft contacted the U.S. Coast Guard Station Chetco River reporting the boat was disabled with two people on board in the vicinity of the Bell Buoy. The station launched a 47-foot motor lifeboat to tow the vessel to the Port of Brookings Harbor.

Noon: The captain of a 23-foot pleasure craft called the U.S. Coast Guard Station Chetco River reporting the boat was disabled near Sporthaven Beach with three people on board.  The Coast Guard launched a 47-foot motor lifeboat to tow the vessel to the Port of Brookings Harbor.
