Monday, Jan. 4

Traffic crash, no injury, 12:11 p.m.: Hoffeldt Lane.

Fire, 2:19 p.m.: Brookings Fire Department responded to a flue fire in the 1000 block of East Street.

Suspicious conditions, 2:50 p.m.: A woman in the 600 block of Pioneer Road found her windshield scratched and suspected that someone had keyed it.

Fraud, 3:57 p.m.: A man reported an unsolicited charge on his credit card account. It showed to have originated in Canada.

Fraud, 5:18 p.m.: A man reported unauthorized withdrawals from his bank account.

Suspicious conditions, 1:46 p.m.: Police responded to a report of teenagers on the back porch of a vacant residence in the 1000 block of Ruth Lane. One of the teens was identified as the daughter of the homeowner.


Tuesday, Jan. 5

Theft of services, 3:59 a.m.: A woman was charged with theft of services after she took a taxi from Curry General Hospital to Brookings and then informed the driver that she had no money.

Fraud, 8:10 a.m.: A man in the 500 block of Hemlock Street felt he was being swindled by a person who delivered him wood. An officer determined this was a civil disagreement and suggested small claims court.

Identity theft, 10:49 a.m.: A man reported that someone opened a DirecTV account in his name. He learned of it when a collections company called.

Traffic crash, no injury,. 12:07 p.m.: 700 block of Spruce Street.

Suspicious conditions, 2:47 p.m.: A man reported that an unoccupied blue pickup had been swept into the river near Loeb State Park.

Driving complaint, 2:47 p.m.: A woman expressed concern about large construction trucks speeding on Old County Road.

Driving complaint, 3:22 p.m.: Police received a report of a vehicle passing a school bus, stopped with its red lights flashing, in the 500 block of Fern Street.

Suspicious conditions, 3:22 p.m.: Mentor Oregon personnel reported damage to their front office door in the 800 block of Pioneer Road. They thought it might be a burglary, but nothing was discovered missing.

Suspicious conditions, 7:24 p.m.: A 13-year-old boy said he was sitting in a car in front of Shop Smart when a man and a woman tried to enter the vehicle’s trunk. He saw them trying the doors of other cars in the lot as well.


Wednesday, Jan. 6

Theft, 9:56 a.m.: 300 block of Matot Street.

Fight, 10:59 a.m.: 900 block of Chetco Avenue.

Traffic crash, no injury, 11:22 a.m.: Highway 101 and Zimmerman Lane.

Suspicious conditions, 11:49 a.m.: Fifth and Easy streets.

Theft, 2:02 p.m.: 900 block of Midland Way.

Driving complaint, 8:11 p.m.: Police received a complaint of a vehicle speeding, on Railroad Street.

Intoxicated subject, 9:54 p.m.: Personnel at a business in the 15400 block of Museum Road reported that they had refused entry to a client who showed up intoxicated and that he was still hanging around outside the business.
