John Jason Greene, 31, Medford, was convicted Feb. 9 of menacing. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, 36 months’ probation and to pay $1,000 plus $830 restitution. ~~~ Tommy Carl Brandt, 70, Coos Bay, was convicted Feb. 9 of reckless driving. He was given a deferred sentence. ~~~ Hazen Earl Bruhn, 23, McKinleyville, Calif., was convicted Feb. 9 of driving under the influence of intoxicants and two counts of recklessly endangering another. On the DUII, he was sentenced to 48 hours in jail, 24 months’ probation and to pay $1,500. For recklessly endangering, he was sentenced to five days in jail on each count, 24 months’ probation and to pay $817, plus $333 restitution to the city of Brookings and $759 restitution to the Curry County Sheriff’s Department. ~~~ Frank Andrew Cardenas, 20, Crescent City, Calif., was convicted Feb. 9 being a minor in possession of alcohol. He was ordered to pay $150. ~~~ Michael Lee Conover was convicted Feb. 9 of being a minor in possession of alcohol. He was ordered to pay $150. ~~~ Charmaine Cooper, 28, Brookings, was convicted Feb. 9 of unauthorized use of a vehicle. She was sentenced to 10 days in jail, 24 months’ probation and to pay $187. ~~~ Daniel Vincent Harper, 49, Bookings, was convicted Feb. 9 of failure to perform the duties of a driver. He was sentenced to five days in jail, 12 months’ probation and to pay $750 plus restitution to be determined later. ~~~ Cody Dillon Center, 18, Brookings, was convicted Feb. 9 of being a minor in possession of alcohol. He was ordered to pay $150. ~~~ Tom Jessten Layton Jr., 21, Springfield, was convicted by default Feb. 9 of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. He was ordered to pay $1,000. ~~~ Chris Jacob Latham, 22, Brookings, was convicted Feb. 9 of criminal trespass. He was ordered to pay $200. ~~~ John Clyde Riddle was convicted Feb. 9 of harassment. He was given a deferred sentence. ~~~ Linda Consuelo Ritchie, 31, Harbor, was convicted Feb. 9 of probation violation. Her probation was revoked and she was sentenced to six months’ jail and one year of post-prison supervision. ~~~ Robert Leon Yoacham, 55, Brookings, was convicted Feb. 9 of disorderly conduct. He was ordered to pay $200. ~~~ Phillip Matthew Wilson, 47, Brookings, was sentenced Feb. 9 on nine convictions of delivering marijuana to a minor, two of third-degree sexual abuse, seven of furnishing liquor to a minor and four of endangering the welfare of a minor. He was sentenced to four prison terms of 25 months and three of 23 months each on the seven convictions for delivering marijuana to a minor – all to be served consecutively and each to be followed by three years of post-prison supervision. He received two more sentences of 23 months on the other two marijuana convictions, with post-prison supervision, to be served concurrently. The two sex abuse convictions were merged into one, with a six-month jail sentence to be served concurrently. He received five years’ probation and 120 days jail on each of the seven furnishing liquor to a minor convictions and he received five years probation and 30 days jail on the endangering the welfare of a minor convictions. He was also ordered to pay about in $2,500 fines and fees. ~~~ Ivan Paxton, 27, Salem, was convicted Feb. 10 of probation violation. His probation was continued and he was sentenced to 30 days in jail. ~~~ David Leslie Smith, 55, Gold Beach, failed to appear Feb. 10 for arraignment on a show cause order. A warrant was issued for his arrest. ~~~ Jacob Warren Hansen, 19, Harbor, was convicted Feb. 10 of second-degree theft. He was sentenced to 48 hours in jail, 100 hours of community service, 12 months’ probation, and to pay $67 plus $300 restitution to the Lions Club. See Court Report, Page 7A |
