The Brookings-Harbor School Board has scheduled a special meeting at 6 p.m. Monday devoted entirely to the school bond construction projects.

Members of the School Bond Oversight and Review Committee will discuss with board members important issues such as project management and the timeline for the overall construction effort.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting, which will take place at the Azalea Middle School Library.

District Superintendent Paul Prevenas said the meeting will be a great opportunity for members of the oversight committee to share their input on these important issues directly to the school board, together with the direct input from our architect and school administration.

Dick Bryant of WBGS Architecture and Planning will give a report to the board that includes survey plans and subsequent soil testing and other geo-technical investigation work that needs to be done before construction begins.

Bryant will also explain the criteria for determining which company should be hired to do the survey work.

We are trying to steer this work towards one of our three local surveyors, Prevenas said.
