The Port of Brookings Harbor was busy Monday after more than two months of waiting for crab to be deemed safe. Crab season normally opens Dec. 1, but was delayed because of high concentrations of domoic acid and a low meat volume. The RyLayla, right, is loaded with pots before heading out after noon. In the evening the boat returned after setting the pots and met the Good Fishing II, above, on its way out. Fishermen will bring in their first haul of the season today.
