Music in the Redwoods 2017-18 concert season continues with Two on Tap, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Crescent Elk Auditorium at 994 G St. in Crescent City.

Two On Tap marks the creative collaboration of musical theater performers Melissa Giattino and Ron DeStefano.

Since its debut in February 2010, Two On Tap has entertained tens of thousands at countless theatrical concerts and gala events in the US, and enjoyed headliner status aboard cruise liners.

Two On Tap aims to breathe new life into classic song-and-dance. Recent accomplishments include appearances at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, headline performances on the Queen Mary 2’s historic transatlantic route, and community concert tours.

Educational outreach and helping to create “tomorrow’s audience” are an important part of the Two On Tap mission. Giattino and DeStefano said they enjoy leading school and community programs in conjunction with their performances.

Outreach programs include audition workshops for high-school theater performers, and school performances that incorporate a structured curriculum on the history and evolution of tap dancing.

These outreach opportunities offered by Two On Tap help to boost ticket sales and have also sparked renewed interest in what some had considered to be a “lost” art form, according to the performers.

Tickets are $20 for adults free for children. Tickets are available at Del Norte Office Supply in Crescent City and at the door.

The season will conclude with Duo Baldo, classical and comical piano and violin on April 22.
