Bruins boys basketball

The Bruins boys played two more games in the Eureka Tourney over the weekend after their loss against McKinleyville on Thursday.

First, the Bruins boys played the St. Bernard High School Crusaders for a 71-63 loss on Friday night. This put the Bruins at 2-6 overall for the season.

On Saturday the Bruins boys went on to defeat the the Eureka High School Loggers at a close 57-56. This put the Bruins at 3-6 for the season, resting at 30th place in the OSAA 4A rankings.

The Bruins boys will rest for the week before traveling to the Salem Academy Holiday Tournament on Dec. 28, where they will play the Western Mennonite Pioneers. The game starts at 6:30 p.m.

Bruins girls basketball

After their loss against Hoopa Valley last Thursday, the Bruins girls basketball team went on to play two more games at the McKinleyville Tourney.

On Friday, the Bruins played the Yreka High School Miners, resulting in a 48-42 win for the Bruins. This put the Bruins girls at 3-5 overall for the season.

The Bruins girls faced off against Redding Christian High School Lions, taking a solid victory at 49-33. The team currently sits at 4-5 overall for the season at rank 20 in the OSAA 4A rankings.

The Bruins girls will take a break this week before traveling to the Salem Academy Holiday Tournament on Dec. 28.

Bruins wrestling

The Bruins wrestling team attended the Grants Pass Invitational tournament over the weekend. The team did not qualify for an overall score with only one varsity player, but had several high placements. Tanner Wyatt, the teams only varsity wrestler this year, placed second in the 138 weight bracket. For junior varsity, Nick Dodson placed second in the 220 weight bracket, while Jacob Wallinbrock placed second in the 185 weight bracket.

The Bruins boys fight again Tuesday at the Illinois Valley Invitational.

Panthers boys basketball

The Panthers boys basketball team faced off against the Bonanza Antlers on Friday night for a 79-55 victory. This puts the Panthers boys at 3-2 overall for the season at 18th in the OSAA 2A rankings.

The Panthers boys play the Eagle Point High School Eagles Tuesday and then face the Coquille High School Red Devils at Coquille this Friday at 5:30 p.m.

Panthers girls basketball

The Panthers girls were defeated by the Eagle Point Eagles Monday night at 49-40. This leaves them at 4-2 overall for the season at rank 9 in the OSAA 2A rankings.

The Panthers girls play the Coquille Red Devils this Friday at Coquille. Game starts at 7 p.m.
