The final three shows for Brookings Harbor Community Theater’s youth production of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 13, 14 and 15.
The play, written by Lewis Carroll, adapted by Tim Kelly and directed by Carolyn Poston, is performed at the Chetco Grange Community Center at 97895 Shopping Center Ave. in Harbor.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and students, and available at Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings, New Wave Video in Harbor and at the door.
This play gives a modern view to an old classic, where nonsense makes quite good sense, according to the playbill. The audience can follow the rabbit to an entertaining world of childhood fantasies as Alice journeys into a world of talking animals, comic royalty and races where the contestants run in circles.
There’s the Mad Hatter’s frantic tea party, the watch-carrying White Rabbit and talking flowers. Along the way Alice must deal with a sneezing duchess and a baby that turns into a pig. The finale starts with Alice watching a trial, and suddenly finding herself a participant.
