The Friends of Unitarian Universalists will meet at 10:30 a.m. in the Evergreen Federal Bank meeting room, 850 Chetco Ave., Brookings. Rotary Club of Brookings-Harbor hosts an evening social titled “Want to Learn What Rotary Does After it Rains Cats and Dogs” at 5:30 p.m. at the Event Center, 800 Chetco Ave., Brookings. A barbecue and drink will be served. The public is welcome. The event is free.

The National Honor Society at Brookings-Harbor High School hosts an Empty Bowls fundraiser to help end hunger in communities from 6 to 8 p.m. in the high school cafeteria, 625 Pioneer Road, Brookings. Bowls will be filled with soup and served with bread, dessert and a drink. Tickets are $15 for teens and adults and $10 for children 13 and younger. Tickets are available in advance from honor society members. The cost is $5 more at the door. Handmade bowls will be for sale for $5.
