Ellensburg Theater Company presents “Making God Laugh,” written by Sean Grennan and directed by Gigi Hodges.

“Making God Laugh” is staged at the Rogue Playhouse for three weekends beginning this Friday, Dec. 1.

Sue Baczik of the Ellensburg Theater describes the play as “A perfect family get-together outing for Christmas!”

The play centers around an American family over the course of 30 years of holidays. Three grown children have returned home — one a priest, an aspiring actress and a former football star — to their empty-nester parents who are still working through a few issues of their own, and old family rituals resurface resulting in bad blood from yesteryear with hilarious results.

“Making God Laugh” runs a minimum of two hours. Hodges said she “is excited” to bring this classic play to life to South Coast audiences and invites the public to come and enjoy the show.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Dec. 1, 2, 8, 10, 15 and 16, and 2 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 3, 10 and 17, at the Rogue Playhouse, 94196 Moore St., Gold Beach.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students and available at Gold Beach Books and the Coffee Dock. For reservations, call 541-698-6239, 541-247-4382 or 541-247-5109.
