The Rogue Valley Windchaser Club hosts a public kite flying event at 10 a.m. at South Beach in Crescent City. The event also begins at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5. The club builds and gives away free kites to children, provides trainer kites for beginners and offers instruction for those wanting to learn techniques for more advanced kite flying.

Friends of the Chetco Library hosts a book sorting party from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in preparation for the Holiday Book Sale.
