Pianist Michele Goritz Berlant performs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at the Rogue Playhouse at 94196 Moore St. in Gold Beach.

Berlant presents a classic repertoire and original compositions inspired by classical, jazz and new music. She will open the floor for conversation with the audience throughout the evening.

Berlant is a a musician, composer and educator. Even before completing her studies in classical music at the Manhattan School of Music, she was performing both piano and flute as a soloist and in ensembles.

She sought out and was selected by jazz legend Kenny Werner to be one of his students, according to her website.

Berlant has accompanied the American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Classics Dance Theatre of Stamford, Connecticut, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.

She continues to teach piano and music theory in Connecticut while living part-time in Agness.
