BHHS loses to Sutherlin in three straight games

It was a short night for the Brookings-Harbor High School volleyball team as they lost to the Bulldogs of Sutherlin in three games, 17-25, 13-25, 24-26.

In the first and second games, the Bruins didn't seem prepared to play, but in the third game, something sparked and they came close to winning a game.

According to Head Coach Sam Greenlee, that spark was the knowledge that it was a do-or-die situation.

"They knew it was do-or-die, but they waited too long," Greenlee said. "The third-game team was the team of effort and that's who they needed to be from game one."

The Bruins travel to Coos Bay to face the number one team in the Far West League, Marshfield High School, on Thursday. The Pirates are undefeated in league and will provide a challenge for the Bruins.
