The Brookings-Harbor High School baseball team traveled to Hidden Valley High School on Friday to face the Mustangs and kept the game close through four innings before their errors caught up with them in the 12-2 loss.
"Hidden Valley is a quality club, in a good league," Head Coach Darrell Nelson said. "We made five or six errors on the day, and every time we didn't make a play, they made us pay for it.
A.J. Briganti started the game and went 4 2/3 innings before getting the hook.
Tyler Kido came in to complete the fifth inning before turning the reins over to Nick Ensley to pitch the sixth and final inning.
"We're just glad we're getting to play," Nelson said. "The process is all about getting to league and we'll be ready."
Joey LeFebvre led the Bruins in batting, according to Nelson, with a single and a double. Isaac Sanders had a sacrifice fly to score a run and Izak Ehlers had a base hit for a RBI.
"We were solid," Nelson said. "We haven't seen a lot of live pitching yet, but we were solid."
The Bruins host Coquille today at 1 p.m. for doubleheader action at the high school baseball field.
