The Bruins added a single run in the second inning and another in the fifth to take a 5-0 lead.

With Goergen on the mound, the Bruins were able to hold the Pirates scoreless until they notched a lone run in the fifth.

In the sixth inning, the Bruins added three more runs and extended their lead to a comfortable 8-1 margin.

The Pirates managed to score three more runs in the final two innings, but it was not enough as the Bruins were able to hold on for the victory.

The JV squad also played their best game of the year with a 15-6 win over the Pirates.
