In their first meet of the year, both the boys' and girls' track teams took first place at the Bandon Invitational on Tuesday.
The Bruins captured 11 events, four in the girls' division and seven in the boys', on the afternoon.

On the girls' side, Illy Ayala took first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.09 seconds, while her teammate, Kristian Mcgee, took third with a time of 31.2.
Ayala also took fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.41.
In the 400-meter dash, Christiana Petzold took third place with a 1:11.76 and in the 3000-meter run, Monica Mitchell also captured a third place finish with a time of 14:37.61.
Kayla Hamm brought home a pair of second place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles (18.44) and in the 300 hurdles (54.42).
Juliette Corpening tied for a third place finish in the high jump with a height of 4-04.
The Lady Bruins swept the field in the throwing events with Justine Cuthbertson taking first place in the shot put with a throw of 33-03 and Tabby Reneman grabbing first in the discus and the javelin.
Reneman threw 112-05 in the discus, 8 feet farther than the second place finisher, and she threw the javelin 101-03, almost 12 feet farther than the closest competitor.
For the boys, Brian Hodge had a productive day, finishing first in the triple jump (39-06), second in the 100-meter dash (11.91) and eighth in the shot put (36-02).
In the 200-meter dash, Luke Rowland took first with a time of 24.40 seconds, followed by Blake Peters in third (25.13) and Mark Aguirre in fifth (25.34).
Aguirre also captured a first place finish of his own in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.54.
Peters grabbed another third-place finish in the 400 with a time of 54.58.
Kevin Sthen took third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.08 and Linden Loren also nabbed a third in the 1500-meter run at 4:37.86.
The boys took four of the top five spots in the 3000-meter run, led by Chris Neighbor in first (10:33.66), Sthen in second (11:00.98), Ryan Johnson in fourth (11:19.72) and Tim Hunter in fifth (11:58.56).
Chris Hodge grabbed a pair of second place finishes in the hurdle events, with a 17.93 in the 110-meter hurdles and a 46.02 in the 300 hurdles.
The boys' 4 by 400 relay team team took first with a time of 3:42.67. The team consists of Peters, Loren, Aguirre and Andrew Tuttle.
Kyle Botnen took first in the pole vault with a 13-foot vault.
In the shot put, Bruin teammates took second and third with Mike Chambers in second with a throw of 43-09 and Chris Althof in third with a throw of 42-02.
The two Bruin big men switched places in the discus, with Althof capturing first with a throw of 107-00 and Chambers in second with a throw of 106-11.
The Bruins also took fourth, fifth and sixth place in the discus with Jackson DeHaven (104-04), Luke Rowland (102-09) and Mike Althof (102-02).
In the javelin, Gavin Cooper took fifth place with a throw of 132-05.
The next track meet for the Bruins will be Wednesday, March 28, at Del Norte High School at 3 p.m.
