After a decade, Brookings is again hosting Little League All-Stars in tournament play this week with 23 teams competing from Medford, Central Point, Illinois Valley, Gold Valley, Grants Pass and Brookings.

The games begins at 9 a.m. today (June 28) at Bud Cross Park, at Ransom and Third streets, and will continue through July 4. Boys and one girl from ages 9 to 14 willshow their skills to find out who will go on to compete in state competition.

Thetop team of 11-12 year olds has the chance to go to the Little League WorldSeries.

Brookings Little League fundraising efforts on Sunday, June 29, will include a can drive at Ray's Food Place and a car wash at Washington Mutual, both at the corner of Chetco Ave. and Fifth Street.
