Luanne Lee

July 1, 1941-Nov. 29, 2013

Luanne Lee, born July 1, 1941, in Payette, Idaho, passed away after a lengthy illness on Nov. 29, 2013.

She was the daughter of George E. "Jimmy" and Eileen Lee of Baker City.

Luanne grew up in North Powder and Baker City, and was educated there.

After graduating from Eastern Oregon College, she worked in Baker City for Bill Jackson's law firm, and then moved to Eugene, where she worked many years as a paralegal for Art Johnson's law firm. While in Eugene, Luanne returned to school at the University of Oregon's School of Fine Arts. She developed her love of painting there, as well as later in retirement.

After her marriage to Cliff Weeks in 1983, Luanne moved to California and worked for the Walkup, Downing law firm in San Francisco.

When Luanne and Cliff retired in 1998, they settled in Brookings, a place they previously visited during their travels. Their interests in travel led them to many places in the U.S., but often to Arizona. Luanne's love of art inspired her to further develop her abilities by attending many painting classes in Brookings.

She became a lifetime member of the Pelican Bay Arts Association. She was also a great fan of sports, and "her teams" were the San Francisco Giants and the 49ers football team. In addition to Luanne's talent and many interests, she was a most courageous person, setting an example of strength and bravery every day.

Preceding Luanne in death were her parents Jim and Eileen Lee and her beloved nephew Scott Carnine.

Survivors of Luanne include her loving husband Cliff Weeks of Brookings; sisters Pat Hunt (Tom) of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Marilyn Carnine (Steve) of Wilsonville; niece Brooke Hunt (Steve Heinl) and family of Ketchikan; and nephew Jimmy Hunt of Ketchikan. Also surviving are great-nieces Mena and Elsie Heinl of Ketchikan, and Dorothy Hunt of Cambridge, Minn.; great-nephew Jerome Hunt, also of Minnesota.

Luanne did not wish to have any formal funeral services.

Donations in her memory may be made to Coastal Home Health and Hospice, P.O. Box 6042, Brookings, OR 97415.
