Jeanne F. Gibson

Former Brookings resident Jeanne F. Gibson, 96, of Vancouver, Wash., passed away on July 9, 2013.
She was born in Zanesville, Ohio, to Samuel Foster Flemm and Lucy Love Flemm (Crawford).
As a young child, Jeanne moved to Chicago with her family.
She married William J. Gibson, June 25, 1938, and moved to the Chicago suburbs of Homewood, Ill.
In the 1970s the couple retired to Brookings. Jeanne's final move was to Highgate Senior Living in Vancouver, Wash. Survivors include her children Gwen Hudson and her husband Rich, William Gibson and his wife Kay. Also surviving are grandchildren Rich Hudson and his wife Lynda, Kirk Hudson and his wife Andrea, Alaine Kowal and her husband Tom, Scott Hudson and his wife Thuy, and Jenny Hudson Coles. Jeanne was honored with 13 great-grandchildren: Alyssa Hudson, Justin Hudson, Ryan Hudson, Nicole Hudson, Troy Kowal, Taylor Hudson, Lauren Hudson, Haily Hudson, Jennisue Kowal, Easton Hudson, Cole Hudson, Reagan Kowal and Jack Hudson. She was preceded in death by her husband William Gibson (Sr.), in 1996.
Jeanne was an artist and quotes from her journals identified her philosophy of life
"Life is mostly froth and bubbles, two things stand alone, Kindness in another's troubles and Courage in your own." - Princess Diana, at a breast-cancer research benefit in D.C.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday July 27, at Cascades Presbyterian Church, 9503 NE 86th Street, Vancouver, WA. 98682.
