Judy left this mortal life on her eternal journey on Feb.10, 2013. She had grown tired of her 25-year battle with cancer and was ready to return to her Heavenly Father.
She was born Nov. 2, 1940, to E. Taft Warner and Edna Harrison Warner in Glendale, Calif. She lived on the Mojave Desert with her parents and brother, Billy, until they moved to Klamath Falls when she was 8 years old. Later they moved Roseburg where Judy completed her education.
Judy married Bob Moore and had a son, Michael, in Roseburg. They moved to Grass Valley, Calif., to work in the logging business with her dad. Bob died in a logging accident when Mike was 8 months old.
When Mike was 2, Judy met Loren Pingree and they were married at Lake Tahoe on April 7, 1962. Loren adopted Mike and they had four more children andndash; Daniel, Tiffanie, Jonathon, and Amanda.
Judy had many amazing talents, one of which was dealing with people. She became a foster parent and enjoyed sharing her family and home with 55 foster children over the years. She also found time to work at Kmart and Ben Franklin Stores. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings in the Grass Valley and Brookings Wards.
After Loren retired, they moved to Brookings, in 1997. Judy enjoyed the ocean, the beach, eating fresh fish and crab. She delighted in her new friends in Brookings. Another favorite pastime was scrapbooking and quilting. She made quilts for each of her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Billy and a granddaughter. She is survived by Loren, her husband of 50 years, her sons Mike (Laurie), Dan (Tanya), and Jon (Kim) and daughters Tiffanie (Brian) Hodge, and Amanda Drake. She also leaves 24 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family wants to thank all the friends and Coastal Home Health and Hospice for their many acts of kindness.
There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brookings
There will also be a service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Hollow Way, in Nevada City, Calif.
