Marjorie E. Moore

Marjorie E. Moore, 95, Billings, Mont., died July 7, 2000, at Eagle Cliff Manor.

Mrs. Moore was born Feb. 22, 1905, in Glenwood, Iowa, to Thomas and Martha Stimson.

As a girl, she moved with her family to Polson, Mont., where her father maintained Pullman railroad cars.

She married Fred Janicke and they made their home in Great Falls until moving to Portland.

During World War II, Mrs. Moore was an asbestos worker in the Kaiser Shipyards.

Following the death of her husband, she moved to Elko, Nev., and married Art Moore. While living in Elko, she worked mining silver.

She and her husband moved to Brookings where she lived for more than 50 years. Her husband passed away in 1957.

She was a member of the Rebeccas, the Grange, American Legion, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Disabled American Veterans.

Mrs. Moore enjoyed walking, especially on the beach. She loved to travel by train or bus. She was an avid reader and was always crocheting. She was an extraordinary woman with a big heart and a sure will of determination, matched by none, her family said.

Her family would like to thank the people of Brookings for the caring and support shown to her over the years.

Survivors include daughter-in-law Billie Janicke, Great Falls, Mont.; grandchildren Fred Janicke and his wife Bonnie, Great Falls, Mont.; Cathy Davie and her husband Dave, Billings, Mont.

Also surviving are four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her brother David Stimson and her son Kenneth Janicke.

Graveside services are scheduled for July 16 at 1 p.m. at the Condon Masonic Cemetery in Condon.

Arrangements are under the direction of Michelotti, Sawyers and Nordquist Mortuary in Billings, Mont., and Sweeneys Mortuary in Condon.
