Wesley McGhan

Wesley McGhan, 93, Brookings, died Aug. 28, 2000, in Roseburg.

He was born Nov. 14, 1906, in Saskatchewan, Canada.

He first came to Brookings in 1909 on the Oregon Trail.

He loved fishing and poetry. He grew up in Coos Bay and joined the U.S. Army in 1926. He served in World War II.

Mr. McGhan worked in the Corp of Engineers and Agnew Timber until his retirement in 1975.

Survivors are grandson Wesley O. McGhan, Brookings; great-granddaughter Caitlyn Lyann McGhan, Brookings.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Lucille McGhan, and his daughter Sandra McGhan.

At the request of the deceased, no funeral will be held.

Arrangements were under the direction of Litty Funeral Directors, Brookings Funeral Home.
