Maureen Therese Huard, 63, Harbor, died at Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent City Nov. 14, 2000.
She was born Aug. 12, 1937, in Los Angeles.
She was raised and educated in Portland where she graduated from high school. She attended college in Portland.
She married Fred Huard July 12, 1985, in Las Vegas.
They made their home in Southern California before moving to Gardnerville, Nev., where she worked as a special education aide.
Mrs. Huard moved to Harbor in 1994 where she continued working as a special education aide for the Brookings-Harbor School District.
She retired in 1998. She enjoyed rug hooking, painting pottery, making pillows and fishing. She loved the ocean.
Mrs. Huard was a member of the Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband Fred Huard, Harbor; mother Stella Nowels, Sacramento; son Melvin Scott, Fairfield, Calif.; daughters Michelle Johnson, Portland; Mavis Jordan, Sacramento.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her father.
Arrangements are under the direction of Scantlins Brookings Mortuary Chapel.
