George Edward Miller

George Edward Miller, 86, Brookings, died Nov. 26, 2000, at his home.

He was born April 24, 1914, in Portland to Robert and Suzie (Thomas) Miller.

He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. After his discharge, he was employed as a carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for more than 50 years before his retirement.

He provided for his mother until her death.

Survivors include his nephews Wesley Heinrich and his wife Laurise, Brookings; Fred, Vancouver, Wash.; niece Virginia, Loma Linda, Calif.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister Mildred Miller Heinrich; brothers Robert and Harold.

Services were conducted Tuesday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Gold Beach. Pastor Jim Bollin officiated.

Interment followed at Rogue River Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Scantlins Brookings Mortuary and Chapel.
