Louis A. Weston, 78, Harbor, died July 24, 2001, at his home from cancer.

He was born Aug. 30, 1922, in Los Angeles to Cleveland and Ida Weston.

He grew up in Canada attending school in British Columbia.

He married Helen Weston June 26, 1961, in Reno, Nev.

He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy in both Korea and China.

He received the Good Conduct Medal, United Nations National Defense and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation.

He moved to Harbor in 1985 from Central Point.

He worked at the Port of Brookings Harbor as a commercial fisherman and retired this year.

Survivors are his wife, Helen Weston of Harbor; daughters, Cherie Farver of Spokane, Wash.; Cindy LaFazio of Harbor; son, Lou Weston of Central Point.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Scott Weston.
