Reginald Sandison, Brookings, died at home on Oct. 17, 2001.
He was born Nov. 6, 1906, in Otsego County, Mich., to John V. and Mary C. (Smith) Sandison.
He attended high school in Detroit and married Hildreth Strever in Detroit on May 23, 1930.
He moved to California in 1934 where he worked as a licensed contractor for more than 30 years building residential homes. He retired in 1969 and moved to Paradise, Calif., where he continued to build, and was instrumental in the construction of the current edifice of the Paradise Evangelical Free Church. After 19 years, he moved to Brookings, where he was active in the construction of his residence, and worked on more than 14 churches, camps and missions in the Pacific Northwest through 1998.
Mr. Sandison is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Curt Fox of Brookings; Ellen and Everett Groff of San Jose; granddaughter, Aimee and husband Richard King; granddaughters, Ashley and Sarah King of Mountainview, Calif.; grandsons, Evan Groff, San Jose; Nathan Fox of Mountainview, and John Fox of Brookings, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and all his siblings: Ruth, Naomi, Raymer, Murnie, Ada, Martin, Sabra, Geneva, and Verna.
Internment will be at Paradise Memorial Cemetery, Butte, County, Calif.
Memorial services will be Sunday, Oct. 21, at 3 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Brookings.
