Percy A. Lowell, 93, Brookings, died Dec. 9, 2001, at Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent City.

He was born March 23, 1908, in Palouse, Wash.

He served with the Navy Sea Bees during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He married Mildred Louise Mohr in 1936, who preceded him in death in 1987.

Mr. Lowell owned and operated Reed-Lowell Lumber Co. in Eugene from 1960 until his retirement in 1987. He married Carmen Tomaneng in 1997.

He lived in Brookings the past 10 years and enjoyed flowers, gardening, picnicking and fires on the beach.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Jon Lowell of Salem; David Lowell of Las Vegas; stepchildren, Tina Rhoades of Crescent City; Edward Tomaneng of Austin, Texas; and Edna T. DeVries of The Netherlands.

He is also survived by two grandchildren, Chris Lowell of Albuquerque, N.M.; Eric Lowell of Lenexa Kan.; and two stepgrandchildren, Peter Shanahan of Los Angeles, and Tom Allen of Eugene.
