James Patrick Cassidy, 52, Fairfield, Calif., died Jan, 29, 2002, in Sacramento, Calif., after a long illness.
He was born Aug. 13, 1949, in Iowa City, Iowa.
He lived in Fairfield, Calif., for six years.
Mr. Cassidy was director of premium support for Oracle Corp. He earned bachelors degrees in physics and math from California Polytechnic State University in 1971, and in 1975 received a doctoral degree in physics from University of Washington.
Survivors include his wife, Jacey-Patel Cassidy of Fairfield, Calif.; sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Tonya Cassidy; and Justin and Becky Cassidy of Oxnard, Calif.; Brian and Carla Flores of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter, Patricia Angeline Cassidy of Tucson; stepson, Jonathan Sarup of Fairfield; stepdaughter, Geeta Angelina Sarup of Fairfield; mother, Shirley Ferrare of Brookings; stepfather, Art Ferrare of Brookings; sisters, Megan Cassidy-McTaggart of Santa Monica, Calif.; and Robin Cassidy-Duran of Eugene.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Paul Cassidy in 1970; and sister Kathleen in 1948.
Services were Feb. 2 in Fairfield.
