David Charles Elliott, 61, Brookings, died Feb. 4, 2002, in Brookings.

Mr. Elliott was born July 17, 1940, in Lakeview to Thomas Elliott and Bernie Elliott Johnson.

He attended Southern Oregon State College via the Daly Fund Scholarship in Lakeview. After graduation he entered the securities business. After working for various brokerage firms, he formed his own company along with his partner, Dick Ledgerwood, in Klamath Falls.

He was active in the community as a member of the chamber of commerce, city councilman and Rotary Club. He enjoyed fishing and golf. He was a long-time member of Reames Golf and Country Club and also Salmon Run in Brookings.

Survivors include his mother, Bernie Elliott Johnson of Sacramento; brother and sister-in-law, Tom Gordon and Shirley Elliott of Davis, Calif.; wife, Eloise of Brookings; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and David Duea of Gig Harbor, Wash.; stepson and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Laura Grow of San Diego, Calif.; and his stepmother, Ida Elliott of Lakeview. Also surviving are grandchildren, Elliott and Joy Duea; Henry, James and Harrison Grow.

A small memorial service for family members is planned. Remembrance cards may be sent to Eloise Elliott at 200 Macklyn Cove Dr., No. 11, Brookings, OR 97415.
