Ruben Ira Remington

Ruben Ira Remington, Brookings, died April 4, 2002, of natural causes.

He was born July 24, 1926, to Minnie McHaley and Ira Remington. He moved to Brookings in 1972.

Mr. Remington attended Murders Creek School in Mt. Vernon and married Patricia Reynold Dec. 4, 1954, in John Day.

He served in the U.S. Army with an honorable discharge in 1943. He worked at the South Coast Lumber Co. and retired in 1991. He was a member of VFW.

He is survived by sons, James Remington of Florida; Joseph Remington of Milwaukee; Michael Remington of Brookings; daughters, Catharine Seymour of Denver; Barbara Campbell of Brookings.

He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie McHaley and Ira Remington; sisters, Minnie Sodterdt and Myrtle Miller; brothers, Hyram Remington and Richard Keeton.

A viewing will be Sunday, April 7, at Littys Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Monday, April 8, at Ward Memorial Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Jim Lamb.
