Jessie E. Stewart, 76, Brookings, died April 19, 2002, at Curry Good Samaritan Center in Brookings of natural causes.

She was born July 21, 1925, in Centralia, Wash., to A.F. and Alice Lowe.

She grew up in Adna, Wash. She graduated from high school in Centralia in 1943.

She married James Stewart in 1975 in Wenatchee, Wash.

Mrs. Stewart worked as a ship welder during World War II.

She worked at Central Washington Hospital and retired in 1980.

She moved to Brookings in 1990 from Wenatchee.

She was a member of the Emblem Club and Rebeka's.

Survivors include sons, Bradford Allen of Brookings; Robert Allen of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; sister, Harriet Helper of Wentachee; brother, Wayne Lowe of Tumwater, Wash.; granddaughter, Kathy Wyles of Klamath Falls; great-granddaughter, Nickol Wyles of Klamath Falls; great-grandson, Trever Wyles of Klamath Falls.

Preceding her in death were her husband, mother and father.
