Bill G. Rucker, 69, of Brookings, died Sept. 7, 2002, in Coos Bay.

He was born June 17, 1933, in Indio, Calif., to William C. and Mamie (Pugh) Rucker.

He was raised and educated in Long Beach.

He spent all of his working years in Orange County. He retired in 1983 as the Computer Center Manager for California State University Los Angeles.

In 1989 Mr. Rucker and his wife Kathryn became full-time recreational-vehicle travelers, motoring about the country in a coach he converted. In 1997, he bought a home in Yuma, Ariz., where he and his wife enjoyed the winters and continued to travel in the summers

He and his wife moved to Brookings where they have lived for the past year. In addition to traveling, he also enjoyed gourmet cooking and spending time with his family.

Survivors include wife of Brookings; daughter, Lori Plumb of Anaheim, Calif.; grandchildren, Robert Plumb and Ashley Plumb, both of Anaheim.

He was preceded in death by son, Jeffery Rucker.

Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 13, at Westminster Memorial Park Mortuary in Westminster, Calif. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Park.
