Wayne Earl Templeman, 72, of Crescent City, died Sept. 14, 2002, in Gold Beach.
He was born in North Dakota on Aug. 17, 1930, to Earl and Emma Templeman.
He served in the United States Navy from 1947 to 1950 and worked as a machinist.
Later he received his bachelor's and master's degrees. He worked as a teacher for many years. His primary love was for the accordion and he spent his last years trying to pass this love onto his many students through teaching.
He was an honorary member of the Brookings Accordion Club.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Rankin of Crescent City; daughter, Cari Templeman of Ashland; son, Matt Templeman of Ashland; stepchildren, Edward Rankin, Earl Rankin, Ray Rankin, Colleen Zigotigos; grandchildren, Demtrie and Christopher Zigotigos, Alyshia and Derrick Rankin; sisters, Shirley Remak of Redding, Calif., and June Eacetleak of Ceres, Calif. Also surviving are many more relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and stepdaughter, Janice Rankin.
Visitation will be today (Sept. 18) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Wier's Mortuary Chapel. Graveside services will be Thursday, Sept. 19, at 1 p.m. at the Del Norte County Veteran's Cemetery in Crescent City.
