The Pistol River Concert Association announces the appearance of grassroots band Time Sawyer at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at the Pistol River Friendship Hall, 24252 Carpenterville Road.

The folk rock band's name is intended to reflect the pull between the past and the future. The character Tom Sawyer evokes the rural background and love of home that the four band members say they share. All hail from the rolling foothills of Elkin, North Carolina. Time is a muse for songwriting; it's the thread that runs through life, bringing new experiences, giving people a sense of urgency, while still connecting folks with the past, according to a news release from the band.

Tickets are $15 and available at Wright's Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings and at Gold Beach Books in Gold Beach.Tickets may also be reserved by calling 541-247-2848 or online at .
