The final performances of the musical "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" will be presented this weekend at the Chetco Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings.
Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 5, and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 6.
Chetco Pelican Players' theater promoter Lon Goddard said that this lively adult musical comedy has been entertaining the community over the last two weeks, so don't miss seeing it.
With Ellen Stadelman as sweet, innocent, American "Soap Queen" Christine Colgate and Mary Anne Trailor as Oklahoma oil heiress, Jolene Oakes, the lead cast is rounded out with Don Jones, as veteran con man Lawrence Jameson and Matthew Perez as the brash upstart Freddy Benson.
Playing opposite are Jaime Legate as world traveler Muriel Eubanks and Edgar Perez as the suspicious Andre Thibadeau, French chief of police and cohort to Lawrence's swindling schemes.
Jones, Matthew Perez, Edgar Perez and Legate are all experienced performers who come to the Chetco Pelican Players from Crescent City for this production. Their verve and flair for comedy has greatly enhanced the show, according to Goddard. Stadelman's unique style and comedic talents have put the icing on the Chetco Pelican Players' show.
The location is the French Riviera's Beaumont-sur-Mer, where the rich and beautiful go to play. That's also the playground where grifters Lawrence and Freddy make a living by fleecing all the wealthy ladies they can.
The sets were designed and built by Mike Moran, Susan Brickley and Ralph Dickey.
With adult subject matter and situations, this show is recommended for mature audiences.
Ticket prices are $12 adults and $6 students. Tickets are available at Wright's Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings, New Wave Video in Harbor, and at the door. Reservations can be made by calling 541-469-1877.For information, call 541-469-1857 or visit http://www.chetcopelicanplayers.org.
