Two Gold Beach officers were treated and released from Curry General Hospital Tuesday night after being assaulted by an allegedly drunk 20-year-old man involved in a fight with his girlfriend.

The incident began at about 7:30 p.m. at the Wild Rivers Apartments on Ellensburg Avenue when the girlfriend of Alexander Codey Storm called 911 to report that Storm left his residence drunk, allegedly without a license, and was driving a car with defective headlamps.

Two officers scoured the area, but were unable to locate Storm, said Gold Beach Police Chief Dixon Andrews.

At about 8:50 p.m., police received a second 911 call from a neighbor complaining that Storm and his girlfriend were involved in a domestic dispute at the apartment complex.

Police officers Tracy Wood and Paul Giovannetti arrived to find the couple in the parking lot.
