Altos Trio visits Brookings

The Curry Coastal Pilot

Friends of Music presents the Atos Trio from Germany in concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Brookings Seventh-day Adventist Church, 102 Park Ave.

Founded in 2003 by violinist Annette von Hehn, cellist Stefan Heinemeyer and pianist Thomas Hoppe, the trio strives to convey the spirit of a string quartet while playing to the piano trio realm, according to a news release from the trio.

The Atos Trio was awarded the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award for its achievement in 2007. The award presents the winners the opportunity to perform 20 concerts throughout the U.S., including a debut concert at New York's Carnegie Hall.

Tickets are $20 and are available at Wright's Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings, Del Norte Office Supply in Crescent City, or at the door. Students younger than 18 are admitted free.
