"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" plays at Harbor Performing Arts Center for three weekends
Brookings Harbor Community Theater Director Cherita Wilson brings to the stage "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," set to open with a dessert gala at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8.
In the full-length musical by theatrical team Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, the musical tells the biblical story of Joseph, his devoted father, his jealous brothers, and his series of adventures.
The production combines a variety of musical styles from country to calypso to rock 'n' roll in a series of numbers, including "Any Dream Will Do," the Caribbean infused "Benjamin Calypso," "Jacob and Sons/Joseph's Coat," the rockabilly "Song of the King (Seven Fat Cows)" and "Go, Go, Go Joseph."
Leading the cast singers and dancers is Andrew Simmons as Joseph and Narrators Stephanie La Torre, Michaela Renee George and Kianna Hendrix.
The cast also features Tony La Torre as Pharaoh, Geoffery Howard as Asher and Potifer, Colleen Harrison as Judah, Josiah Wise as Zebulun, Dilan Cuthbertson as Simeon and a guard, Dominic Hendrix as Dan, Zach Hanners as Napthali, Nick Nolan as Levi and a guard, Easton Scaggs as Gad, Dylan Panter as Issachar, Todd Pearson as Reuben, Brad McPherson as Jacob and Daniel Pearson as Benjamin.
The Go-Go Dancers are Easton Scaggs and Mariahn Seavello. The female ensemble includes Ariel Farris (Potifar's Wife), Ca'Mare'a Freeman, Stephanie Birks, Mariahn Seavello, Nikki Campbell, Amber Fleming, Kathleen Pearson, Katherine McPherson, and Nikki Campbell.
Assisting Wilson, who also is choreographer, is Lynette McPherson (assistant director and stage manager), Nick Nolan (assistant stage manager), Emmalee Cuthbertson (stage crew), Dylan Panter and Michaela Renee George (choreographers), Susan Dodgen (scenic designer), Evan Wise (lighting designer), and Daniel McPherson (sound designer). The costume team includes Lynette McPherson, Ca'Mare'a Freeman, Cherita Wilson, Bj Farris, Colleen Harrison and Dori Blodgett. T-shirts are by Jim Morin.
Tickets are $10 for general admission, $9 for seniors and $7 for students and children. Tickets are available at Wright's Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings and New Wave Video in Harbor.
Performances at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Nov. 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 and 23, and 2 p.m. Sundays, Nov. 10, 17 and 24.
