A cut fiber optic cable disrupted cell phone and long disatance telephone service for Coos and Curry counties, Monday. Workers restored service around 4:30 p.m.

A construction crew working on milepost 43 of Highway 42 east of Myrtle Point cut the cable. The crew hit a large rock while doing some bore work, cutting the fiber optic cable around 10:20 a.m.

According to Frontier Communications, crews dug aroud the large rock and spliced together the cable where it was ripped in half.
