A small Mazda pickup, driven by a young male driver, flipped over on North Bank Chetco River Road Tuesday afternoon. The incident involved no other vehicles and the driver declined an ambulance.
The incident, which occurred around 2 p.m., happened after the driver reached for something in his vehicle, took his eyes off the road and lost control of the truck. The driver was alone. He was wearing his seat belt and was not ejected.
Detective John Gardiner of the Curry County Sheriff's Department said the driver will be cited at a later date for careless driving.
North Bank Chetco River Road is known for being difficult to maneuver, and can be treacherous even at posted speeds.
