County salutes Deputy Heath

By Jane Stebbins, The Curry Coastal Pilot

Curry County Sheriff's Deputy Ted Heath was honored at the county commissioners meeting last week for his 25 years of service with the department.

"He represents what the citizens need to know," said Sheriff John Bishop. "The citizens of Curry County don't know some of the hardworking employees Curry County has. They are few and far between sometimes."

Heath is primarily a marine deputy, but has helped out with Search and Rescue, patrol, jail and the forest throughout his tenure.

"We appreciate everything he's done," Bishop said.

"Sometimes we go in the wrong direction and drive some of them away. We're glad Ted stuck around."

Heath said his quarter-century of work under Bishop "and five other sheriffs has been

a pleasure."
