GOLD BEACH andndash; Generous donations from the community will be the contributing factor in making the upcoming 13th annual Hospice August Sale a success, according to Pattie Slagle, volunteer and resource coordinator for Coastal Home Health and Hospice.
The annual event, which takes place at the Hospice Market Place on Wedderburn Loop on the north bank of the Rogue River, will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24; from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25; and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug 26.
This sale is one of the largest of its kind in Oregon, Slagle said. There are more than 15,000 square feet of merchandise from which to choose.
"There is no junk," Slagle said. "Everything has been scrutinized by volunteers to ensure that only the very best is offered for sale."
Merchandise includes clothing, linens, stuffed toys and personal items which have been cleaned and sorted for easy viewing. Small appliances, equipment and tools are in working order.
Here is a general picture of how the sale is organized:

The Hospice program of Coastal Home Health and Hospice provides care, medications, supplies, equipment and emotional support to individuals who are receiving end of life care. Hospice offers the same excellent care to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay. The proceeds from this sale assist in offsetting expenses; this financial assistance means a lot to patients and their families who have no insurance or their insurance doesn't fully cover the cost of Hospice care.
