Crescent City - Smoke and flames billowed from the Masonic Family Center, 250 9th St., in Crescent City on Friday night.

Dozens of firefighters were on hand, with more on the way, reportedly from as far away as Brookings.

A pillar of smoke was visible from many miles away as flames roared through the roof of the building.

No one had been injured, a firefighter said at 8:15 p.m.
