The bluegrass music of Siskiyou Summit kicks off the 2012 outdoor concerts in Azalea Park on Sunday, June 17.
It's the first of seven concerts planned by the American Music Festival this summer in a mix of both new and returning performers.
All the concerts are set for 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoons at the bandshell andndash; called "Stage Under the Stars" andndash; in Azalea Park.
Admission is free, but buckets are passed for donations.
The full schedule for the summer includes:
andbull;June 17: Siskiyou Summit, a bluegrass band from the Rogue Valley.
andbull;July 8: BluesBox Bayou Band, a zydeco and cajun dance band from Northern California.
andbull;July 15, Bobby and Lori Jo, a Central Oregon duo playing Western music, and a crowd favorite from the 2011 concerts.
andbull;July 29, Oregon Coast Lab Band, a student big band and jazz organization from Coos Bay/North Bend.
andbull;Aug. 12, Golden Bough, a Celtic trio from the Pacific Northwest that has been performing for more than 30 years.
andbull;Aug. 26, Bar Misfits Klezmer Band, a Rogue Valley group performing Eastern European, gypsy, Jewish and Middle Eastern music.
andbull;Sept. 9, Tempest, a Celtic Rock group from San Francisco.
Seating for the concerts is on the lawn in front of the bandshell, so chairs or blankets are welcome.
The Rotary Club of Brookings-Harbor operates the Snack Shack for all the concerts.
In case of bad weather, the concerts will move indoors to the nearby VFW Hall, 206 Pacific Ave.
The concert schedule is limited this summer by a decline in cash donations from sponsors.
The primary sponsors and organizers are the Brookings Area Council for the Arts, the Brookings-Harbor Chamber of Commerce, the City of Brookings and the Curry Coastal Pilot.
