Brookings residents put on Santa Claus suits, dressed as his elves and donned angel costumes to spread cheer to nursing homes Saturday.

The annual event, hosted by Brookings-Harbor Lions Club and Chetco Federal Credit Union, attracted about a dozen people who traveled aboard the Dollar Dog bus to sing Christmas carols.

The volunteers first visited Sea View Senior Living Community and sang to residents in the Alzheimer's facility as well as joined Carl Rovainen and Friends who was entertaining in the Coca Cola Room.

Then it was back on the bus for a visit to Chetco Inn where they were joined by a resident who joined in on the singing there, Good Samaritan Curry Village and Macklyn House.

At Good Sam, residents were already being entertained in the Activity Room, but the entertainer welcomed the Santas to join.

Following a visit to Macklyn House, the volunteers traveled to Ocean Park where they sang in the dining room in the Alzheimer's wing and the residential care wing.
