Preschool children from Creative Learning Preschool and Daycare picked up litter at Stout Park.

Brookings-Harbor High School students hosted Kalmiopsis Elementary

School students with a series of recycling-themed games, including soda

bottle-bowling, fishing for trash, and a recycling relay.

Kalmiopsis students also decorated paper bags from Ray's Food Place and Fred Meyer. The bags will be returned to the stores and distributed to customers.

Azalea Middle School students from Ann Volz's class weeded a garden in front of the school and planted azalea bushes.

The garden was created by Volz as an Earth Day project years ago.

Each year new classes of students clean, weed and add to the garden, Volz said.
